

Wilkie Wendell Johns, age 73, of Whitesburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 surrounded by his family at his residence. He was retired from TRW in Rogersville, was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and a 51 year member of the Masonic Lodge #5 F&AM of Rogersville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Asa and Mary Johns; brother, Gaston Johns; and sister, Opal Lee.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mary Alice Johns of Whitesburg; sons, Charles (Elizabeth) Johns of Rogersville, and Jerry (Lisa) Johns of Morristown; grandchildren, Brittany (Kalep) Kinsler, who is currently serving as a Captain in the US Air Force in Afganistan, Kayla Johns, Jennifer Johns, Joseph Roberts, Jacob Roberts, and Tabitha Trent; brothers, Bruce (Shirley) Johns, Dwayne (Christine) Johns, Vernon (Lois) Johns, Ellis (Wanda) Johns, and Henry (Robin) Johns; sisters, Laura Lowe and Kathy Ramsey; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Russell, Rev. George McCoy, and Rev. Terry Greene officiating. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Rogersville Lodge #5 F&AM preceding the funeral service. Family and friends will meet on Sunday at 1:45 p.m. for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service in Courtney Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, prior to the services.
