She was born in New Ulm, Minnesota on November 22, 1950 to parents Virgilius and Rose Ida Huelskamp who both precede her in death. She attended Mound High School in Mound, Minnesota, graduating in 1968. After high school, she primarily worked in the food industry, particularly at her children’s school to be close to them. Throughout her years, she fought various illnesses and fought to the bitter end. If you knew her, she had a testimony that people would be inspired to hear about. She would say, “It’s not me, but God.” She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-love, sister, and a child of God who loved her family and the Lord.
Her memory and legacy lives on in her husband of 50 years, Gregory A. Sexton, her children Tammy S. Hollis (Jason Hollis) of Fayetteville, GA, Shawn A. Sexton (Nicole Sexton) of Middletown, RI, and Joshua A. Sexton of Forest Park, GA, her five grandchildren, Kaelyn, R. Sexton, Riley M. Sexton, Gabriella M. Latham, Isabella M. Latham, and Zoe M Latham-Sexton, her brother Andrew C. Huelskamp, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Home from 11 am – 1 pm with her funeral immediately following visiting hours. A procession to Sherwood Memorial Gardens will follow both visitation and the funeral.
