Sorry to hear the news about Mr.Rudd . Danny was very helpful to me when I started my Locksmith business.My condolences to the family.

I met Mr Rudd about 20 years or so ago and he was a great mentor. He was always the teacher and I was always willing to learn from him. His basement heaven amazed me everytime I went in it and I could stay for hours. I had to call him multiple times about parts and equipment for old houses and automobiles. One time I was working on a GM from the 40s and I needed help. He told me to come on and he would show me. I was truly amazed at what he did and this was in the last couple years. I asked him, what I owed him and he said nothing. He said he gets the satisfaction of getting it working and i was to go make my money. I literally had to put money on his desk and leave in a hurry so he couldn't give it back. I took a video and showed my customer and they were amazed at what he did. I wish I still had that now. I think we all lost a truly special friend, but look what heaven gained. Rest in peace Mr Rudd, you will be missed.

I first met Danny in April 1984 when I went to work with the Morrow Police Department.  I soon came to know Danny, AKA 062 and his beautiful wife, Nell.  When I would stop by his home, I was always treated as part of the family, drinking a soda, tea and sometimes a meal.  Danny would show me his locksmith tools.  He even changed out my door locks when I bought my home in McDonough.  I was with the Morrow Police Department for 30 years before retiring, but always remembered Danny.  I remember that there were times that we were on a major call or out for long periods of time on a scene (hot and cold) and that during this time, we would see his truck pull up.  He had brought refreshments to help keep us hydrated.  Danny you will be missed, but you and Nell are together again, arm in arm, with no pain and in brand new bodies.  Danny you were loved by many. I recall meeting this amazing man one day and he ask to see my house key, I thought what a strange request, a few days later I saw him again and he handed me a key and said yours looked a little worn, wow I thought surely his elevator wasn't going all the up, but that key did work better than the one I had. That started a long and cherished friendship , many nights in his (as someone said) in his heavenly Locksmith basement .I will surely miss him as I did Moma Nell.

Danny has been a dear friend, mentor, and father figure to me and many others. I will always remember his sense of humor. My favorite times with Danny were when he told strange but true stories about his life with the Georgia State Patrol as we traveled with him and Nell across the state to locksmith meetings. There will be an empty place in our lives. I am so thankful for the memories I have. We all have lost a good friend.

Mr. Rudd was a awesome neighbor and friend. He and his wife welcomed us into the neighborhood with open arms. He would make you feel special by doing the smallest things like taking pictures. My boys cherished him. Mr. Danny Rudd truly made a mark on this world. Now he's dancing in heaven with his wife.Respectifully,Christie Alvarez and family

I knew him as Lt Rudd  GSP  when I started Morrow PD back in 1976..A Great Cop,  A great friend and a Super Great Human...he was a also a great lock smith and loved trains...I remember going to his basement back then and was showed his train collection...Heaven has gained a special Angel, Earth has Lost a Great Human..Gods Speed Old Friend....I was honored to have called you my friend....www.alabamaangelsdogrescue.com

Really learned a lot from Mr. Rudd. Had some great times in his basement. I will miss him but I know him and Mrs. Rudd are back together again.

Danny was a mentor and a friend to me in the locksmith business; a wonderful man, great inspiration and always fun to be with. My deepest condolences to his family. He will be missed. Heaven gained another saint.

Mr. Rudd shared great moments with me in his Locksmiths Heaven downstairs. It was truly a blessing to cross him in my path of life. May God Bless.

Danny and Nell had a great life together. May Danny rest in peace.
