She was preceded in death by her husband, Brooks Gwinette; son, Edwin Gwinette; daughter, Anna Cockrell; and brother, Wesley Owens. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Gwinette of Forest Park and Edythe Manning (Gary) of Forest Park; grandchildren, Adrianne Cockrell, Katie Cockrell, MacKenzie Manning, Sarah Manning, Jessica Gwinette; great grandchildren, Isaiah Reid, Brianna Rudeseal, Alissa Rudeseal, Leah Rapier, and David Rapier.
