Grady Felton Bruce, beloved father, grandfather, and patriarch, was born on December 23, 1926, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, at the age of 99, just months shy of his 100th birthday. Grady’s story is one defined by quiet strength, generosity, and an unwavering spirit through the passing years.
Grady’s journey embodied the subtle grace with which he moved through the world. He was a veteran who worked in the engine room on the US West Virginia during WW2. He was a faithful servant of the Lord who found great purpose and joy within his church family. He was a cherished patriarch to whom family meant everything, and he found his greatest happiness when surrounded by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Throughout his life, he enjoyed many adventures traveling, especially with his beloved wife, Beverly by his side. A dedicated and hardworking man, Grady successfully owned and operated G.F. Bruce and Company Construction, a business he took great pride in running alongside his family. When he wasn't working or spending time with those he loved, he could often be found cheering on his favorite team as an avid, lifelong Braves fan.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Owen Bruce, and his wife Melba, of McDonough, grandchildren, Kelli, Kyle, Kimberly, Kyna, Janie, Butch, Maggie, Eddie, Nicki, and Danny, his great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Grady was reunited in eternity with his cherished wife, Beverly W. Bruce. He was also preceded in death by his daughter and son in law, Karen and George Raburn, and his son, Felton Bruce. His memory will be forever loved and kept alive by his family:
As we remember Grady Felton Bruce, we honor a legacy shaped by the unique times he lived in and the subtle but powerful ways he touched the lives of others. His gentle presence will be deeply missed, but the memories of his kindness and enduring spirit will continue to inspire all those who hold him in their hearts.
Grady’s memory will remain a beacon of longevity, dignity, and kindness—a gift to those who walk the path he helped forge.
