Judy Viola Gullett

Judith Viola Gullett, 82, was born October 18, 1942, in Memphis, TN, to the late James Booker Gullett and late Mildred Viola Moore Gullett. She passed away on July 19, 2026, at Pruitt Place Buckhead in Atlanta. Judy was a devoted and loving daughter and sister.

The family transferred with James's employment at Delta Air Lines to Forest Park, GA in 1954. Judy attended school in Forest Park. After graduation from Forest Park High, Judy started working with Rich's Department Store in the auditing office. She worked with Rich's, then Macy's after Federated Department Stores became the new owner. She spent many happy years initially working in downtown Atlanta at the former flagship store. The annual Harvest Sale was one of her favorite times of the year, especially with her employee discount.

Judy joined First Baptist Church of Forest Park in 1957 and attended services there for many years. She had many lovely friends at the church and maintained contact with several of them in recent years when she was unable to attend services in person. She also enjoyed treating family and friends to her special strawberry cake and peanut brittle.

In addition to her parents, Judy was predeceased by her beloved sister, Doris. The sisters enjoyed traveling in their younger years and celebrating holidays together, especially birthdays and Christmas. The daughters cared for both parents at home in their final years of serious illness. They wanted to and were able to make certain they received optimal care. They were a very close, loving family.

Judy is survived by several cousins, other family, and special friends whom she dearly loved.

The family would like to thank the many kind medical professionals and caregivers with Laureate Medical, Pruitt Place - Buckhead and Pruitt Health Hospice for their loving care the past several years.

A graveside burial service will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, 722 Conley Road, Forest Park, GA, on Wednesday, July 22 at 1 p.m. with Reverend Elliott Yancey officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the charity of your choice in Judy's memory.
