Wilson Carol Barbour

Wilson was the last sibling of his large immediate family of 14 siblings. He was born in Coats, NC on September 11, 1936. He was married to Lois Ivanell Wilson on April 12, 1957 and happily married for 68 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Ivanell Barbour, mother, Gertie Mae Barbour Tyndall, father, Lundy Bennet Barbour, and numerous brothers, brother-n-laws, sisters, sister-n-laws. Also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Megan Amanda Barr.

Wilson Barbour has two married sons and daughter-n-laws, Danny and Jean Barbour, Randall and Karen Barbour. Wilson has 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, and 6 step great grandchildren. He has several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Wilson was a member of Tanners Baptist Church, Ellenwood, GA; Conley First Baptist Church, Conley, GA; and currently Brushy Knob Baptist, Stockbridge, GA. Wilson served faithfully in the US ARMY, 82nd Airborne and the US Army reserves. He was a retired electrician and member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, local union 613, for sixty plus years. Wilson also was a hard-working band parent supporting the bands at Forest Park Jr High and Sr High School traveling in the 1970’s to all types of band events, competitions, and football games cheering on the Pride of Forest Park Marching Panthers.

will be missed by many!!

Services will be held at Brushy Knob Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends at the church one hour prior to service.
