Dolly Mullins of Morton passed away peacefully at home on March 9, 2014. Dolly was born Eva Jean Scalf on May 4, 1931 to John W. Scalf and Emma (Music) Scalf in Randle, Wa. She was the youngest of 16 children and the little doll of the family. To call her Dolly was only fitting. Raised in a large family during The Depression taught her to value the simple things in life and take nothing for granted. She went to school, cared for her family and worked hard. On May 20, 1955 she married Jack J. Mullins and they raised three children, Judi, Tom and Jack W. With very little money they decided to start a small business that would eventually become quite successful. She spent many years working alongside her husband as owners of B&M Gifts Liquor, Pawn & Satellite Shop in Randle.
Her greatest enjoyments in life were her family. She lit up the room when she had a baby in her arms. She always had a hug and a kind word. She loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and sitting around the campfire. She was a certified garage sale queen and proud of it. She enjoyed going to church, taking walks, writing letters to loved ones and listening to the rain on the roof. She was an amazing homemaker, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was very passionate about helping people. She loved everyone and had an untiring ability to give to those in need. Wanting nothing in return.
She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her laugh, her care-free spirit, her never-ending generosity to others, her endless ability to love, her strong devotion to her family and her words of wisdom. Her passing leaves an empty space in our family and in our hearts. She was a blessing to all who knew her.
Her spirit will be carried on by her devoted husband Jack; Her three children Judi (Fred) Jones of Centralia, Tom (Angie) Dean of Glenoma and Jack Mullins (Dot) of Randle and Chehalis; Her nine grandchildren Ron Harper (Cindy) of Elma, Layla (Shaun) Lefebvre of Onalaska, Alicia (Paul) Wright of Phoenix, AZ, Eric (Summer) Dean of Toutle Lake, Daren (Marni) Dean of Toutle Lake, Eva (Nick) Gendron of Roy, Jackie Mullins of Chehalis, Kelley (Dandy) Blankenship of Morton and Hank (Gloria) Spears of Morton; Her 15 great grandchildren; Gage Hastings, Trityn Finley, Cressa Bailey, Ashlynn and Jayce Dean, Ryan and Jetaime Gendron, Lainey, Kendal and Emerson Dean, Kaylee and Molly Miller, Brock Blankenship, Sebastian and Autumn Spears; Her loving brother John Scalf of Morton and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents John and Emma Scalf; sisters Vada Loden, Sally Romanesko, Mae Kirkpatrick, Opal Peters, Alverta Lowe, Janice “Jincey” Schmitt, Hazel Mullins and Myrtle Hunt; Brothers General, George “Squibb”, Lee, Olie, Andrew, and Irvin Scalf; and her best friend Nora Addamucci.
