January 15, 1929 – March 15, 2021
Dwight R. Stumph, age 92 passed away peacefully at his home in Chehalis, Wa., on March 15, 2021. He was born to Paul and Ruth Stumph in Chadron Nebraska on January 15, 1929.
Dwight joined the Air Force in 1948 and did tours of duty in the Philippines, Taiwan, and Panama. He received an honorable medical retirement discharge in 1953.
Also, in 1953 Dwight married Isabelle Roseanne and had four children. Kevin, Mike, Sheri (husband Rod) Buffington, Kathy (husband Floyd) Farlow.
On June 13, 1968, Dwight married Mary Watson and happily became an instant Dad to Randy, Julie (husband Bob) Stanton, and Bill.
Throughout the years to follow, Dwight was blessed with 8 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Over the years Dwight had countless occupations from being a chicken farmer, yarder engineer in the woods, caddy at a PGA tournament, to the owner and operator of the Paul Bunyan Tavern in Onalaska, WA.
In his retirement, Dwight enjoyed taking long road trips, designing and building intricate clocks and over the top birdhouses, but what he treasured the most was spending many many hours with happy friends and family, telling stories or just visiting while sipping a cold Busch Light.
Dwight was a loving Dad, Brother, Uncle, Grandfather and Friend to many.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Ruth, wife Mary, Brothers John and Joel, Sister Maxine, and son Bill.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Browns Mortuary Services in Morton, Wa. Graveside Service with military honors will be held on March 26, 2021, at 1:00pm at the Alpha Cemetery on Centralia Alpha Road. A Taco Bar/Potluck memorial to follow at the Forest Grange on Jackson Hwy.
