

She was born Feb. 6, 1917 in Macaleer Station now known as Fife, WA to the late Carl and Maria (Bachman) Baur. She was the third of eight children in the Baur home. On Nov. 18, 1937 she was married to the late Joseph "Tuffy" Suter at St. Andrews Church. They were married for 59 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her son Joseph Suter and daughter Rosemarie (Shatzi) Bergman. She is survived by her brother Walter (Betty) Baur of Puyallup, WA, son Bill "Sweetie" (Kathi) Suter of Gresham, OR and her daughter Pamela (Ed) McMains of Mineral, WA. Helena will be missed by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Suter was a longtime member of the Tacoma Swiss Ladies Society, the Mineral Lake Lions Club, Sacred Heart Parish and Choir, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed and will be remembered for her yodeling, having sung with the 'Enzian' Ladies Choir of Tacoma, WA. She started Mineral's little league and spent 29 years coaching boys youth baseball. She spent many hours creating handmade potholders. She was an avid sports fan and followed local high school sports as well as all things Swiss especially Schwingen.
Visitation and Rosary is scheduled for Tues. July 12 at Brown Mortuary in Morton at 7pm. A funeral mass will be held on Wed. July 13 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morton at 12:00. In lieu of flowers she requested that donations be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Parish, Enzian Swiss Choir, or Mineral Lake Lions.
