Jack Junior Mullins took his last earthly breath, and traded it for his first Heavenly breath on November 10th, 2016. Jack was born on January 15, 1931 to Martin and Melissa (Tennessee) (Hackney) Mullins. He was the youngest of eight children. Raised in the Randle area, he attended school and later drove truck for a while hauling lumber over White Pass.
Jack served in the United States Army as head cook and baker on an army ship during the Korean War. He was the lead man over more than one hundred other cooks.
On May 20, 1955, he married the love of his life, Eva Jean (Dolly) Mullins. They raised three children, daughter Judi, and sons Tom and Jackie. Jack loved to hunt in the earlier years of his marriage. He also loved to camp and fish with his wife and kids, as well as other family and friends. At that time Jack ran the loader for his brother Cecil Mullins, who owned the logging company. After years there, he started his own business, B & M Gifts, in a shop on U.S. Hwy 12. He sold jewelry, electronics, liquor and satellite dishes. He also put in a pawn shop and hired workers to put in a satellite system in Silverbrook. After Jack retired, he and his wife moved to Morton where they enjoyed their lovely spacious home and dancing at The Senior Center. They attended The First Church of God.
Jack will be remembered as a quiet, sturdy man with a heart of gold and a mind as sharp as a tack, a man who was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, a man that adored his wife and kids, a man that had words of wisdom for anyone that was willing to listen.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife Eva in 2014 and brothers; Archie, Lundy, Cecil, and John.
