

Joan Van Cleve, 84, of Morton, passed away at home on Tuesday, December 1, 2015. She was born in the state of Arizona and later her family moved to Washington, where she attended and graduated from Eatonville High School. Joan married the love of her life, Jim Van Cleve, and together they had two children and owned and operated Van Cleve Motors in Morton. Joan managed the office for Van Cleve Motors and enthusiastically supported her husband and son and their love of drag racing; she was even known to race the tow car!
Joan’s parents, husband, and daughter, Lola Van Cleve, preceded her in death. Joan is survived by her son, James M. (Julie) Van Cleve of Morton, grandchildren, James C. (Jennifer) Van Cleve of Morton, and Derek Van Cleve of Atlanta, GA, great-grandson, Jacob Van Cleve, brother, Cliff (Hazel) McCarty of Eatonville, sister-in-law, Ruthie Williams of Eatonville, and many more well loved family members and friends.
A visitation will be on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 3pm-7pm, at Brown Mortuary Service, 812 Westlake Ave in Morton. A funeral service will be on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at 11am in the Morton Elementary School Gymnasium, 400 West Main Ave, in Morton. A graveside service will follow the funeral service at Morton City Cemetery, 812 Westlake Ave. The family will host a reception at the Morton Elementary School Gymnasium after the graveside service, please rejoin everyone at the reception and continue to share memories of Joan.
