Thomas F. “Red” Callahan, passed away May 9, 2013, at Morton General Hospital. Red was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on April 15, 1921. He was raised in Randle, Wash., and graduated from Randle High School in 1940. Shortly after graduation Red joined the Navy, spending time in the Pacific Theatre. Later Red worked for Latimer and Sons in addition to raising beef cattle. Red enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors and Western Music.
Red is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Bridget Callahan; wife, Dorothy; and sister, Margaret Fuchs. Surviving Red are sisters, Eileen Smith of Tacoma; Kathleen (Roy) Horton of Fife; brother, Hubert (Alice) of Randle; step-grandchildren, Rory and Danny Clevenger; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at Silver Creek Cemetery in Randle with a lunch to follow at the Randle Fire Hall. All are welcome to attend.
