

Cecil was born on July 22, 1923 to Albert Sidney and Martha Ann McMullen
Armistead in Lake Charles, LA. Cecil loved his family, running his dozer, cattle and horses. He was an officer in the Army Air Force during World War II. He served as an Aerial Gunner and CPL Technical Instructor. Cecil was a riding instructor in the rehabilitation program. Cecil was a founding member of the Moss Bluff Methodist Church, a member of the Grand Lodge of the State of LA Lodge #462. He owned Armistead’s Dozer Service and also worked for Calcasieu Parish for 10 years as a Road Superintendent.
Cecil is survived by his two children: daughter, Brenda (Butch) Stewart of Freedom, OK and son, Randy (Bridget) Armistead of Moss Bluff; grandchildren, Carissa Stewart of Choctaw, OK, Heath (Shay) Stewart of Freedom, OK, Jeff (Jessica) Armistead and Fancy (Jeremy) Joffrion of DeQuincy, LA; great grandchildren, Chase, Brooke and Jade Stewart of Freedom, OK, Gavin, Ethan, Macie and Eli Armistead and Gracy Joffrion of DeQuincy, LA; sister, Laura Goos; and longtime companion, Wilda Cormier. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 4pm-8pm and will resume on Thursday from noon until service time at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. His funeral will be at 2pm on Thursday at Moss Bluff Methodist Church. Burial will be at Old Richie Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Heath Stewart, Jeff Armistead, Jeremy Joffrion, Wesley Goos, Gavin Armistead and Ethan Armistead. Honorary Pallbearers will be Fred Roshell, Jay Pearson, Sonny Mason, Ronnie Armistead and Bobby Stout. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to Moss Bluff Methodist Church.
