Charles Peter Funderburg Jr., age 67, of Lake Charles, LA passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022. Charles was born in Lake Charles, LA on January 14, 1955 and spent his life here, later retiring from the Oil Field industry as a Vice President.
Charles had a passion for sports, especially the New Orleans Saints and Alabama football. He passed the time watching 30 minute sitcoms. Some of his favorites were Seinfeld, Cheers, and King of Queens. He also loved Jelly Bellies Jelly Beans. But his favorite thing to do was spoiling his daughters and grandchildren.
Charles is preceded in death by his father: Charles Peter Funderburg Sr, his nephew: Brandon Scott Funderburg and his niece: Jesse Dawn Johnson.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his mother Lois Funderburg, his three daughters: Tiffany and husband Michael Phelps, Mia and husband Tim Hamilton, and Charlee and husband John Meche.
Four siblings: Sandy Query, Donna Johnson, Marcy Johnson and Troy Funderburg.
And 12 grandchildren: Regan, Chloe and Lucas Phelps. Amelie, Judah and Ezra Marigny. Evelina and Elliot Meche, and Myka, Ali and Julian Lester.
A visitation for Charles will be held Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Hixson Funeral Home, Moss Bluff, LA. A funeral service will be Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 2:00 PM, Moss Bluff, LA. Burial will be Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery, Westlake, LA.
