Rev. Danny P. Moore,75, of Seguin, TX, a devoted servant of God entered into eternal rest on July 23, 2025. Surrounded by loved ones, he departed this life peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, compassion, and unwavering dedication to his family and calling.
Danny was raised in Lake Charles and had a strong work ethic that started at a young age. He worked for Mr. David Brown's rice farm. He was a graduate of Lake Charles High Class of 1969. After graduation he enlisted in the US Army where he was a Military Policeman stationed in Ft. Lenardwood, MO; After his time in the military, he worked for Rapides Packing Co., Community Coffee, Dowell Chemical, in 1985 he was Ordained through the Assemblies of God and later through United Gospel Tabernacles. He pastored for many years, was a bus driver for Calcasieu Parish and truck driver for Bancroft & Sons.
Danny was known for his beautiful smile, deep wisdom, kind heart, big laugh, funny faces, patience, prayers, and steadfast commitment to both his family and friends. Whether from the pulpit or in quiet conversation, he brought comfort, guidance, and inspiration to all who knew him. He loved spending time with his family and friends. His eight grandkids were the joy of his life, he taught them how to do things, he was a true jack of all trades. He was always ready to play games, dominos was his favorite & bringing the “smoke”, he was a trash talker while playing and was quick to say he “let them win”. He loved studying and reading the Word, gardening, woodwork, fishing, sports, hunting, singing, playing gospel music, traveling and sitting in the sun. He had 3 favorite sayings, “Good Day, Love Ya, Bye!”, “Oh Baby! How many points is this?” and “I’m fine as a frog hair!”
Those left to cherish his memory are his four beloved daughters, Melissa {John} Pousson, Jennifer {Cleo} Callais, and Julie {Charlie} Thibodeaux; Summer {Nathan} Berry; one son, Andrew Virga; 15 grandchildren Kegan {Crystal} Pousson, Katlyn {Courtney}, and Kelsey Pousson, Amanda, Trevor, and Jacob {Dana} Walker, Ethan {Diana} and Kade [companion, Alexis Eddy} Adams, Ryan {Lydia},Rusty {Crystal}, and Edward {Rachel} Callais, Nicolas Virga, Cole, Grayson and Ava Berry, Austin Virga; 27 Great-Grandchildren; one Great-Great Grandchild; one sister, Sharon {Carrol} Wright; two brothers, Charles{Sue} and Gary {Sheila}Moore; Godchild, Quinton Reeves; Best Friend, Will Thornton; many nieces, nephew, cousins, his church family, friends, and colleagues in ministry.
Those gone before him are parents, Edwin and Beulah Moore; one sister, Marilyn Clark; one brother, Marc Moore; his wife of 49 yrs, Glenda Gill Moore; and his wife of 1 ½ yrs, Sandra Virga Moore.
A Home-Going Celebration will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 12:00PM at Hixson Funeral Home-Moss Bluff, 150 Bruce Circle, Moss Bluff, LA with cremation following service. Visitation will take place on Friday, August 1st from 5:00-9:00 PM and Saturday, August 2nd from 10:00 AM until service. Reverends Michael Moak, Robert Kratzer, and Greg Simien will officiate.
The family would like for everyone to wear his favorite color, Blue.
