Doris Neal Johnson

Doris was born in Potter County Texas to Levi and Thurra Schmidt. She married the late Elmer Lee "John" Johnson in 1945. During more than fifty years of marriage Doris and John enjoyed traveling and lived in California, Massachusetts and Oklahoma. Doris was an accomplished seamstress and avid quilter who enjoyed sharing her quilts with family, friends and a local charity. A devout Christian, Doris was a member of Parkway Church of Christ.

Doris is survived by her two sons, Lee Johnson of Pflugerville, TX and Joseph Johnson of Moss Bluff, LA; two sisters, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be at 1p.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Burial will be in Bixby Cemetery in Bixby, Oklahoma. Visitation is from 5p.m.-8p.m. Tuesday and will resume Wednesday from 11a.m. until service time in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Heart of Hospice.
