Dovie Marie Benoit

She was born in Rosepine and lived in Lake Charles and Moss Bluff for the past 60 plus years. Dovie worked for Lake Charles Medical and Surgical and later retired from the Calcasieu Parish School Board as a bus driver. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gillis. Dovie loved her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed and loved going to their ball games and sporting events. Dovie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Jules Garland Benoit of Moss Bluff; sons, Ricky Benoit of Moss Bluff and Travis Benoit and wife, Jendi of Grand Lake; daughters, Kristina Krejchi and husband, Rick of Westlake and Pamela Savoie and husband, Shadd of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Ricky, Colby and Wyatt Benoit, and Barrett “Britt” and Layna Savoie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus and Lena Midkiff; brothers, Murvis and Hollis Midkiff; sister, Doris Cooper.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 from 5pm-9pm and will resume on Wednesday from 9am until service time at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Her funeral will be at 11am on Wednesday at the funeral home. Reverend Rocky Istre will officiate. Interment will be at New Ritchie Cemetery.
