

Earl was born in Elton, LA and lived in Lake Charles most of his life. He was an United States Navy WWII veteran and a retired security guard from Phelps Correctional Institute. He owned and operated his own store F&M Superette in Lake Charles and Community Grocery in Ragley. He was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church. He was the greatest father his children could have had, always putting their needs first. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Those left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Michael E. Fontenot and wife, Pam of Sulphur, Timothy W. Fontenot and wife, Moneen and Bryan R. Fontenot and wife, Tammy all of Ragley; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Irene Manuel Fontenot; a daughter, Debra Lynn Fontenot; parents, Zephran and Olena Fontenot; two sisters, Vivy Ardoin and Adeline Moro; and two brothers, Paul and Wilson Fontenot.
His funeral service will be at 1:00pm, Tuesday, November 26, in Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. The Msgr. Charles Dubois will officiate. Visitation is from 4-9pm, Monday and resumes 9am until service time Tuesday. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Ragley, LA.
