Elsie had a long career in accounting and as a union pension fund administrator while living in Louisiana, California, Alabama and Utah. She was a runner, an avid gardener and loved her Shitzu puppies.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Mahlstedt, her parents, Alphonse Ayo, Sr. and Eleonore Foret Ayo, and 10 brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son Walter "Butch" Benoit, his wife Mary Benoit and their son Jacques Benoit and daughter Lauren Benoit; her daughter Amanda Stewart and her husband Dr. Timothy P. Stewart, sons Adam Stewart and Paul Stewart, daughters Mary Claire Stewart and Anna Stewart; Daughter Deanna Broussard and fiance Kenneth Hall, with whom she spent her last days, and Deanna's sons Austin Broussard and Dylan Broussard; five great-grandchild, Trenton Stewart, Kenley Stewart, Collins Stewart, Callie Ann Sewart and Wesley Benoit; and one brother, Tommy Ayo and wife "Sis" of Spotsylvania, VA.
Elsie's wishes were to be cremated and the family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
