Jean Guidry "Mama Jean"

Jean Guidry, age 86, of Ragley, Louisiana passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, February 15, 2025 with her loving family by her side. Jean was born on August 3, 1938 in Lyons Point, Louisiana to Dennis and Estelle Richard.

Jean was a longtime member of St. Theodore Catholic Church where she was still a member of the Alter Society. Jean was currently a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. "Mama Jean" enjoyed cooking meals, watching baking competition shows, spending time with her family but she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 69 years, George Guidry, son, Michael Guidry, a daughter, Pauline Burnette, and a brother, Alvin Richard.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Ed Guidry and his wife, Monica; grandchildren, Ethan Guidry (Shaina), Mallory Gragg (Jacob), Larindy Ford (James), Mike Guidry, and Sam Guidry; and great-grandchildren, Adelaide, Hadleigh, Dennis, Evelynn, Peyton, Leland, and Delilah.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, 20, 2025 at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Friday until 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Rev. Jeffrey Starkovich officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Lake Charles.
