It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Willis Cleveland Perry, affectionately known as JP or Jerry, who left us on February 18, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on November 12, 1943, in Merryville, Louisiana, he was the youngest son of John and Lovinia (Gidney) Perry. Siblings include, one sister - Irene Deckard married to Bill (both deceased) and two brothers, John Perry (deceased) and his wife, Pat Perry; Charles Perry and his wife Barbara, who will cherish his memory.
A devoted family man, Jerry was widowed by his beloved wife, Dolores Mueller, in 1997. He never remarried. He is survived by his cherished daughter, Dalal Langley, and her husband James, two grandchildren- Trevor Guillory and Hunter Guillory and one great granddaughter, Nevaeh Guillory, who will forever hold dear the memories of their time together.
Jerry was known for his strength, kindness, and generosity. In his early years, Jerry navigated the Louisiana waterways as a tugboat captain then later, supported his family by commercial shrimping and fishing. His innate ability to cook will surely be missed by all that have been at his table. In his later years he enjoyed living between Louisiana and Missouri where he was able to single handily modify the deer population. He touched the lives of many with his kind spirit and will be remembered for his unwavering support of those he loved.
An open visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. A time of sharing memories will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff. Friends and family are invited to come together to celebrate his life and share in the memories that will keep his spirit alive.
Rest in peace, Jerry. Your legacy of love and kindness will forever be treasured by all who were fortunate to know you.
