

Lake Charles - Jerry Lynn Royer, 70, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013 at his residence.
He was born in DeRidder and lived in LeBleu Settlement. He was an avid golfer, loved fishing and hunting. He owned and operated Jerry's Machine and Fabrication Shop. He was a U. S. Army Veteran. He also enjoyed raising his deer that he just had built a pen for. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was always the life of the party.
He is survived by his wife Ruby Royer; sons, Kenneth Leone and wife Cherie of Keithville; Stephen James Leone and wife Shannon of Keithville; step son Robert Dehner and wife Allison of Lake Charles; step daughter, Connie Burgin and husband Vernon of Ragley; brother, Marvin Royer of Ragley; sister, Brenda Gilbert of Ragley; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was everyone’s “favorite uncle.” He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Dessie Royer; brother, Harold Royer, Jr. and brother-in-law, Bennie Gilbert.
His service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Rev. David Lilly will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and resume Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Hagar Cemetery in Ragley.
