Joanita Joyce Henry Hadley

Joanita Joyce Henry Hadley, age 80 passionately known as “Jo” to her friends and siblings. “Nanna” to her grandchildren passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015 in a local care center. She was born on September 19, 1935 in Lake Charles to Paul L. and Mabel Nixon Henry, but lived most of her life in Moss Bluff.

Jo was a graduate of Gillis High School and SOWELA Vocational and Technical School. She worked for over 30 years in the banking industry.

Jo was a loving mother and grandmother and will always be remembered for her kind words and smiles. She loved to travel, but most of all she always looked forward to taking trips out west several times a year.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Terry Dwayne Hadley of Lake Charles, her granddaughter, Michelle Hadley Richard and her husband Buck, her brother Manny Henry and his wife Mickey, her sister Delaine Abercrombie and her husband Clark all of Moss Bluff, her great grandchildren, Gregory, Caleb and Danielle Richard and Gabe Hadley, also her great great grandchild Makaila Richard.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Lale Allen Henry, her son Jimmy Hadley, her grandson Patrick Hadley and the father of her children Barry Hadley.

A visitation will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 5:00pm – 9:00pm at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 9:00am till time of Service. A Funeral Service Celebrating Jo’s life will immediately follow visitation, at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Old Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff.
