John Fontenot

Lake Charles - John Fontenot, 84, passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 in his residence.

He was born in Edna, LA. and lived in Moss Bluff where he was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church. He retired as a longshoreman for the Port of Lake Charles after 30 years. He was a WWII and Korean Veteran in the U.S. Army. He was also a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Ethel Desormeaux Fontenot of Moss Bluff; sons, David Wayne Fontenot of Lake Charles; John Lawrence Fontenot and wife Kathy of Gillis; Reginald Dartez and wife Gail of Baytown, TX; daughter, Carolyn Ann Dartez Davis and husband Ronald (Bud) of Moss Bluff; brother, Kenneth Vayon; sister, Eula Mae Vayon of Sulphur; grandchildren, Shane, Scotty, Angela, Melissa, Jennifer and Christopher and seven great grandchildren.

His service will be Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 11:00 am at St Theodore Catholic Church. Msgr. Charles Dubois will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. and resume Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be at Old Ritchie Cemetery.
