LeRoy Peavy

LeRoy was a faithful servant, serving as a Deacon and a Sunday school teacher at Gillis Baptist Church. He was also a Sunday school teacher at Moss Bluff First Baptist Church. LeRoy worked at PPG for 20 years as a machinist. He was a shop foreman for 10 years. LeRoy was a veteran of the US Airforce serving in WWII. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and reading God’s Word. LeRoy was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 66 years, Mildred Peavy of Ragley; sons, James Peavy and wife, Betty of Geismar, LA and Russell Peavy and wife, Patricia of Ragley; daughters, Jane Currie and husband, Bill of Shreveport and Valerie Logan and husband, Victor of Winder, GA; 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and one great grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bias and Alpha Peavy; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 5pm-8pm and will resume on Thursday from 10am until service time. Funeral Services will be at 2pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Reverend Johnny Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley.
