Louvie Junius Duhon

Moss Bluff- Louvie Junius Duhon, 81 passed away April 9, 2013 in his residence. He is a native of Crowley and has lived in Lake Charles for over 40 years. He was past commander of the District 5 VFW, once All American Commander, past commander of VFW Post 9933 of Moss Bluff and presently in VFW Post 9854 of Vinton. Since 2003 he was District Quarter Master and belonged to the American Legion Post 179 of Sulphur. He is survived by his sons, Chester Duhon and wife Gayleen , Brian Duhon and Kenneth Duhon and wife, Belinda all of Moss Bluff; daughters, Dymphna McDowell and husband, Richard of Westlake and Juanita Duhon of Moss Bluff; brother, William Duhon of Crowley; sister, Nola Haines and husband, George of Judice; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Lilian Abshire Duhon; brothers, Leolton Duhon and Chester Duhon; sisters, Eula Meaux and Juanita Duhon; grandchildren, Bernard Marti, Alexis McDowell and Patrick Hadley His funeral will be 1pm, Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Rev. Chris Fuselier will officiate. Visitation will begin Friday 4pm-10pm and resume Saturday 8am until service time. Burial will be in Richie Cemetery. "LJ" was "Mr. VFW". Totally dedicated to the VFW and to Veterans; a man you could count on. His absence will be felt across the State of Louisiana and the loss of his mentorship to young veterans will be monumental. God Bless you, LJ.
