Ludren Reed

Ludren Reed, 76, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He loved to fish and watch sports. He was the type of guy who never met a stranger. He always loved to joke around and make people laugh. On the side, he did trolling motor repair work. He loved his dog Slim, but most of all he loved his precious family.

Ludren is survived by his loving wife Mary Reed, along with his five children David Reed and wife Susie of Lafayette, Adam Reed and wife Quita of Cold Spring, TX., Lisa Caffery and husband Russell of Lafayette, LA., Tara Geaux and husband James of Athens, TX., and Amanda Reed and husband Joel Brandhorst of Atlanta, GA. Also, surviving are ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adam Reed and Glaris Launey, and two brothers, Herman Reed and Reginald Reed.

Services will be held at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Moss Bluff on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 1:00pm with Father John Huckaby officiating. Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 5:00-8:00pm with a Rosary by Deacon Leo Hebert at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 11:00am till the procession to the church. Burial will be at Consolata Cemetery.
