Martha Lynn White was born in Lafayette, Louisiana on January 9, 1949 but moved to Moss Bluff , Louisiana in early childhood with her parents Margaret Sue White and James Oswald White. She spent a lifetime living between Lake Charles and Moss Bluff, Louisiana and passed away at her son's home in Sulphur, Louisiana on July 4, 2023 at the age of 74.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, James Alan White and Carroll David White.
Those left to cherish her memory are two children, Dwayne Hightower and wife Billie, and Susan Hightower Credeur; five sisters, Mary Ann Darbonne, Linda Kay Kline, Bonnie McDonald, Sandra Marshall and Debra Jones; one brother, Calvin White; four grandchildren, Kaleb Womack, Luke Hightower, Alexandria Credeur and Randall Credeur, Jr.; and one great grandchild, Sadie Grace Credeur.
Martha graduated from Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff and attended McNeese State University. She was a homemaker, worked in construction, and filled numerous job roles in her lifetime but her favorite vocation was being a momma. She was an excellent cook and baker, and filled the bellies of her family daily when she was able.
Martha was a member of First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff where she loved participating in the Ladies Sharing Life group. Martha will be missed by all who loved her; however, she is in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and is no longer suffering or in pain.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at the First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will resume on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 8:00 a.m. until the time of services. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff with burial immediately following at Old Ritchie Cemetery.
