Born on August 31, 1953, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Marvin was affectionately known by family and friends as “Fluffy.” He attended Sam Houston High School before beginning a career as a pipefitter, a profession he dedicated many years to with pride, skill, and a strong work ethic.
Marvin enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved cooking for family and friends and was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan who rarely missed an opportunity to watch a race. He will be remembered for his easygoing nature, hardworking spirit, and the love he had for those closest to him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Barbara Ann Hulasy Goos; his sister, Donna Faye Goos Graves; his granddaughter, Jessica Marie Hogue; and his niece, Patryce Monette Graves Abshire.
He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick McCoy Goos Jr.; his mother, Barbara Ruth Morgan Goos; and his sister, Peggy Darlene Goos.
The family will welcome the public for visitation at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 10am until 1:00pm. A graveside service will follow at Goos Cemetery in Moss Bluff.
