Mary Ann Racca Talbott, 94, of Moss Bluff, Louisiana went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, January 1, 2022. MaryAnn was born on her family farm in Lacassine, La on July 13, 1927 to Angela Rose and Herbert “Gro” Racca. She was the 10th of 12 children with only one brother, J.D. Racca, of Moss Bluff, surviving her.
She married Virgil William Talbott from Fort Madison, Iowa on August 14, 1944. They moved to Moss Bluff in 1951 and were married for 47 years when he passed away in 1991. They had four children, whom all have preceded her in death: William “Lyle” Talbott, Vada “Karlene” Morris, Jody Hebert Talbott, and Rudy Talbott.
She loved all of her grandchildren very much.
Her son Lyle gave her grandchildren Gena, Roxanne, William, April, Delwin and Aaron. They had many memories in the country together.
Karlene and Michael Morris’s children are Kevin Morris (Sherrie), Kellie Carroll, and Karra Dronette (Eric). They will always cherish the times spent together.
Mrs. Talbott helped raised her four youngest grandchildren. Forever cherishing her memory are Amanda Person Sprinkle (Andy), Rachael Gayle Person, Sarah Person Knepper (Devan), and Adam Wayne Person.
She also had many great grandchildren and a few great-great grands that loved her very much.
Mrs. Talbott is also survived by her special daughter-in law, Joy Bertalotta, and son-in-law Donald Ray Warren. Ms. Talbott adored them and has stayed in touch over the years.
The family would like to thank Ms. Joyce Reeves who was Mrs. Talbott’s caregiver and friend since 2018. She provided companionship and assistance that will forever be appreciated.
Being a born-again Christian was the most important part of Mary Ann’s life and she loved to share the impact the Lord had on her family. She became a member of First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff in 1952 where both her and husband Virgil were baptized in the river by the old Moss Bluff bridge.
She wanted to share this message that she wrote in her Bible after becoming a Christian in 1952:
“Memories, sweet memories, on that beautiful March 10, 1952, day. Oh Lord, I take it as the moment that I started my walk with you, hand in hand, when the path of life with you began. What a beautiful peace, the joy of the Lord over took me as the Holy Spirit flooded over my soul.”
