It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mildred Valerie Peavy (Cedotal) of Ragley, Louisiana on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at the age of 92. Mildred (Millie) was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Millie was a faithful servant, teaching Sunday School at Gillis First Baptist Church as well as Moss Bluff First Baptist Church where she was a member for many years. She was involved in mission trips to the mountains of Mexico, as well as other outreach ministries, alongside her beloved husband, LeRoy. She and LeRoy also spent much time gardening, fishing, and traveling. She loved studying the Bible and sharing her love of the Lord with others. She enjoyed cross stitching and was once an avid bowler. Above all, she loved her family deeply, treasured the time she spent with them, and prayed for each and every member faithfully.
Mildred is survived by her children, James(Betty) Peavy of Zwolle, Louisiana; Russell Peavy of Ragley, Louisiana; Valerie(Victor) Logan, of Winder, Georgia; her son in law, Bill Currie, of Shreveport, Louisiana; her sister Alice(John) Duhe of Mt. Hermon, Louisiana; brother in law Gordon Fullington of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; 11 cherished grandchildren, 27 adored great grandchildren (2 on the way), and 4 prized great great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and one special, devoted friend, Elizabeth Stanley.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 years, LeRoy Peavy of Ragley, Louisiana; her daughter Jane Peavy Currie of Shreveport, Louisiana; her daughter in law, Patricia Peavy, of Ragley, Louisiana; her parents, Ernest & Lelia Cedotal; siblings, Anna Wicker, Mary Bourgeois, Hayward Cedotal, Ernest Cedotal Sr., Henry Cedotal, Theodore Cedotal, Betty Addison, and Genevieve Fullington.
Mildred (Millie, Mom, Granny) will be greatly missed though we rejoice in the confidence that she was welcomed into the arms of her loving Savior, and her legacy will live on through all those she loved and those her life touched!
