

She was born June 16, 1924 in Vermillion Parish to Vallerian and Love (Boudoin) Broussard. She was married to Bradley E. Stutes for 72 years before he preceded her in death. Her parents, four brothers, one sister and two sons-in-law, Robert L. Theriot and Charles Wynn also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her four children, Richard Stutes and his wife Brenda of South Carolina, Linda Theriot, Janis Reeves and her husband Gordon and Valerie Wynn all of Moss Bluff. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Nellie worked for Trappy’s Canning Factory in Lafayette, as a Seamstress Fitter for Abdallas in Lafayette, then as a secretary for the Dept. of Public Works in Lake Charles for Mr. Mancuso and was also employed at Muller’s in Lake Charles. Nellie was a longtime member of St. Theodore Catholic Church in Moss Bluff. She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family.
A visitation will be Friday, April 10, 2015 from 5 to 8 pm at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff, rosary will be at 6:00pm and visitation will resume Saturday at 8 am until time of Service. A funeral mass will be Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Theodore Catholic Church and burial will follow service at Consolata Cemetery in Lake Charles.
