

Victor G. Perego went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 31, 2011. He was born on March 25, 1935 in DeQuincy, LA to the union of O.W. & Bertha Perego. His family moved to Ragley when he was a young boy. He received Christ as his Saviour at Faith Baptist Church (formerly Kernan Baptist Church) where he was a member for many years.
He attended Ragley High School and graduated in 1954. He entered the U.S. Army serving part of the time in Germany. He worked various construction jobs, as well as in a bakery in North Carolina and on local rice farms. He was injured and had to retire young on disability.
Victor loved the outdoors and hunted squirrels when he was able. He always raised a beautiful garden and shared with family, friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his wife, Emma; grandchildren, Shelly, Ericka, James, Randy, Clint, Danny; 12 grandchildren; sisters, Patsy (Richard) Mitchell of Sulphur; brothers, Rev. Daniel R. (Doris) Perego of Ragley, Dr. Kenneth (Ann) Perego of Pineville; 3 step great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 daughters, Danna Wright and Loretta Manuel; son-in-law, John Wright; baby sister, Mildred Louise and 2 brothers, Bruce and Max Perego.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Faith Baptist Church. Rev. Bill Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Felice Cemetery. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff on Friday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday at the Church from 10 a.m. til the service.
