Kenneth Ray Kirkland, II, 43, of Moulton, left this earthly world and entered into his eternal reward on December 3, 2018.

He was born on December 20, 1974, in Huntington Park, CA, to Kenneth Ray Kirkland, I, and Jacquelyn Vieux.

After graduating from Seguin High School, Ken attended a trade school in Oregon but returned home to care for his father who became ill with cancer. After his dad’s passing, he remained in Seguin working various jobs in construction and electricity. He also operated his own framing business for a short time. He truly was a jack of all trades and was always willing to help anyone with whatever they needed, even random people on the side of the road or in grocery stores.

He married Lindsey Ann Hermes on April 10, 2004, and renewed that marriage in the Catholic Church on May 9, 2013. They made their home in Moulton with their three children, Keegan, Hope, and Kenton Kirkland.

He truly loved his children and loved them deeply with all his heart, always imparting his “front porch” wisdom to Keegan, going “vintage shopping” with Hope, and fishing streams and rivers with Kenton. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for the three of them.

Ken also marveled in finding good deals at pawn shops, Good Will, and garage sales but didn’t hesitate to spoil the ones closest to him by whatever means necessary, either. He had a passion for loud music and fast motorcycles and often turned heads with his gruff appearance. His heart, though, was as gentle, kind, and giving as they come, and he enjoyed living a servant life.

He was preceded in death by his father and grandfather Rhea Floyd Kirkland.

He is survived by his wife, children, grandmother Vedna Mae Kirkland of Seguin, uncle James (Gladys) Kirkland of Seguin, brothers Allen (Tara) Wallace, Jr., of New Braunfels, Curtis (Kimberly) Allen of New Braunfels, James Kirkland of Seguin, David Cromer of Fort Worth, and Daniel (Brenda) Gonzales of San Antonio, sisters Karen (Mark) Farris of Mesa, AZ, Davina (John) Hyres of Front Royal, VA, and Sabrina Allen of New Braunfels, and father and mother-in-law Allen and Barbara Hermes of Moulton.

He Was A Co-Workee Of Mine For Over 2 Years Here In The Oil Field . I Had A Nickname For Him ,It Was 110% , Because No Matter What Her Was Doing He Gave It 110% , He Was A Very Uplifting And Positive Person Out Here. And Thats Exactly what we needed to keep us going in this Field of Work ...... But most Importantly He was A Great Family Man ,He Always Asked About my kids and how were they doing ,I Told Him I Had 4 Daughters And They All loved Music And Were Learning How To Play Guitar And Piano , So He Would Always Ask "Hey How Are My Rocker Baby's Doing" And Hit The Air Guitar As He Asked lol ..... And He Would Share Stories If His Great Family as Well ...I Can Go On .... When I Heard The News
.. It Got Me... I Got Emotional.. My Wife Had To Hold Me In The Middle of A Busy Store.. .. If He Can bring so much light to a group of Hard Working Rough Necks ...I Can Only Imagine How His Emediate family Is Handling it .... Great Man .... His Stories Will Live On With Us ...But I Know You Will Be Watching Over Your Family From Heaven Ken ...110% ....

Ken,
I always knew you as the " tough guy", and the strong man that you were. But, also as one possessed a spirit of charity and genuine concern for others that was only God given. When I was going through hard times you always went out of your way to share kind, uplifting words and a contagious laughter that showed your love for life. You soo deeply loved your family. We love you and miss you dearly but REJOICE in the heavenlies my nephew.

I remember an adorable little cousin. Although we haven't been in touch for many years, he was my family. I will always regret not knowing him. Life is so tenuous. Though we'ld have more time. Love to his family. You are in my thought and prayers.
Goodbye Cuz.
