Claudine was hard to ignore in her vintage clothing, wigs, odd-ball humor and attitude. She certainly made herself seen and heard at  ELF's meetings and events. Her colorful presence will forever be remembered and missed.

I knew Claudine for what seems too short a time. I learned mostly of her talents and inspiring outlook on life through many of her long term friends and associates at Education Legacy Fund.  It was apparent from her style that she was a truly talented and respected lady. I am lucky to have had the opportunity to know her.  Claudine, Rest in Peace. You will always be remembered and loved by many.

I knew Claudine for many years, both through my work with Education Legacy Fund which we served together for some time, and through ASID, as well as her perambulations through the D&D Building at many events throughout the years, where we would run into each other. We always shared a conversation. Her jaunty red hair and hats were instantly recognizable. She was a remarkable lady, staying active in her field long past the time when most would have slowed down....a unique person. Rest in Peace, Claudine.

I am sorry to hear of Claudine's death. She was an active friend and member of ASID's NY Metro Chapter for many, many years. Her enthusiasm for life and all things design was ongoing. Her smiling face will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Claudine Nepon, ASID was an "original!'  She was an Interior Designer, a member of the American Society of Interior Designers New York Metropolitan Chapter and of Education Legacy Fund. Those of us who knew and worked with Claudine have many extraordinary memories of the times we spent together. Several of us were able to visit Claudine in New Rochelle toward the end of her life and are grateful to Tom Pinto for connecting us with her and, thereby, giving us the opportunity of spending time with her before she died. Claudine was resilient and spirited on the day we last visited with her, full of stories of her parents and her long and eventful life. The memory of our visit and of her indelible personality will be with us as we remember Claudine and the positive and often challenging impact she had on her friends and colleagues.
Rest in Peace, Dear Lady!

I was with Claudine five days before she died at Sutton Nursing home. I held her hand for six hours. I had only met her several weeks before. She made me shave my beard and she smiled and talked about her work as a designer and how she started out in life to be a doctor. On Sunday, four days before she died I brought her a little stuffed lamb and strawberries and bananna and a piece of pizza. She made me promise to bring French Fries the next time I came. She enjoyed hot sauce in tomato juice and told me about her favorite pizza place in New York. The four times I visited her I hand fed her for hours. She liked that. She liked her food hot. The care at Sutton was very good and they kept her clean. She knew she was going to pass on and told me she was very frightened and I held her hand more tightly. The last time I visited she told me she had only held on because she wanted to say goodbye to me. I took her to the little day room and gave her pizza. She only ate a tiny bit. During her last hours Claudine had a magnificent smile and laughed. My only regret is that I did not go back again the next day from New York City to visit her again. She was in quite a lot of pain during her last days. May she find everlasting peace in heaven. Though I only knew her briefly it was a pleasure, and I am crying a lot. I went to church today to say a prayer for her.
