Natalie was born March 23, 1924 in New York, NY, to parents Israel Cohen and Lillian Cohen nee Kramer and resided at 969 Hoe Av., 1501 Plimpton Av, and 960 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY. She was the granddaughter of Samuel and Rose Kramer nee Goodman and sister of the late Charles Cohen.
Natalie attended Washington High School, New York, NY and graduated in 1940. She then attended Hunter College and earned a B.A. degree in social work, the field in which she worked until motherhood.
In 1946, she married Nat Handler, of Newark, NJ, at the Hotel Pierre, New York, NY. The couple then lived at 940 later 1000 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY
until moving to New Rochelle, NY on December 26th, 1956.
Natalie is survived by 3 sons: Glenn, Elliot(Ellen), and Ira(Margaret Reidy); by seven grandchildren: Marc Zachary(Kristina), Matthew(Emily), Nancy(Matthew), Adam(Sofia), Phoebe(William), Isobel, and Grace; by eight great grandchildren: Benjamin, Vivian Natalie, Evelyn, Annie, Maya, and Nicholas, and by nephew Harlan Cohen(Patricia).
Natalie is predeceased by her beloved husband and very happy marriage partner of 44 years, Nat; by her brother Charles; and by her nephew Jonathan.
Natalie was known and adored for her congeniality and positive attitude. She seldom complained about anything, attributes that remained with her throughout her long life. She was loving by nature and was blessed with lifelong good health.
She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Interment will be at Sharon Gardens cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
