

Dannie "Dan" Kuriger of Louisville, 72, passed away, February 25, 2026, at Norton Suburban with his family by his side. He was born on February 3,1954, in Louisville, Kentucky. Dannie was the oldest of 4. He attended Jeffersontown High School until his Senior year, when he transferred to Bullitt Central (1971) where he graduated with his GED. Dannie is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Kuriger, his mother, Joyce Kuriger Roberts, Nephew, Bobby Donahue, Uncle Jimmy, his sisters, Peggy Kuriger (infant), Vicky Donahue and Jackie Kuriger Wells.
Dannie is survived by his Ex-Wife and Best Friend for 56 years, Brenda Kuriger-Morgan (Wayne), his Daughter, Shawn Kuriger-Gaudio (Nikki), Son, Brian Kuriger (Lisa), 5 Grandchildren, Colleen, Wesley, Jacob, Allyson and Rachel, Nephew, John Obermeier (Kim), Niece, Tracy Allen (Bobby), Brother in laws, David Parrott (Kelli), Pat Kelley (Jill), Kenny Donahue, Sister in laws, Terri Kelley (Steve), Tina Parker (Allison) and several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Dannie started working at Stone Container in 1971 on the assembly line working his way up to Plant Supervisor and retired from there in 2003. Dannie also served the West Buchel Community as a Police Officer for 10 years. In his retirement years he enjoyed working at AutoZone delivering auto parts to local businesses. Dannie was a huge UofL fan and loved watching NASCAR racing and his soap operas. Dannie was one that never met a stranger.
We'd like to thank the nurses at Norton Suburban (floor 4) and Hosparus for taking such good care of our dad. For all the nurses and staff at Jeffersontown Rehabilitation Center, thank you for being such a big part of dad’s life. He enjoyed being there with you all.
Cremation was chosen following Dannie’s wishes.
