Shirley Ann Lewis, age 79, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 5th, 2026. She was born on September 16th, 1946, to the late Elmo and Mary “Hagan” Reed. Shirley loved tending to her flower garden and feeding the squirrel’s outdoors. Her biggest joy was spending time and making memories with her family. Shirley will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Vernon Thaxton Lewis Jr.; parents; and siblings, Louie, Bobby, Jean, Rita and Joyce.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children; daughter, Karen Bruner (Rodney); sons, Vernon Darren Lewis (Kristena), Rocky Lewis (Kelley); grandchildren, Jason Bruner (Samantha); Darrian Lewis, Ashley Lewis (Reid); Grant Dotson, Meredith Dunnavan; great grandchildren, Jordan, Landen, Laila, Nolan and Emory; and sister, Connie Casey.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 11th, 2026, at 6:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (123 Winning Colors Drive, Mt. Washington Kentucky 40047) with cremation to follow. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm.
