Timothy Lee Bender

Reverend Timothy Lee Bender, age 72 of Taylorsville, Ky returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. He was born in Portland, Oregon on April 10, 1954, to the late Adam Frederick Bender and Alma Elisabeth Sayler.

Timothy Bender was a true man of faith. He served as a missionary and the Senior Pastor of Louisville Baptist Deaf Church. Tim retired from both his ministerial role and the Kentucky Baptist Convention on March 31, 2021. He served in the Multi-Language Department for the Kentucky Baptist Convention. Tim enjoyed sharing the gospel and joining in fellowship with his friends. He loved spending time in his garden and woodworking. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.

Tim is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Wilbert Adam “Bill” Bender, Josephine Ann Bender Skidmore and Ronald James “Ron” Bender. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Sue Bollin Bender; sisters, Carol Jeanette Bender Moers and Marillyn Lucille Bender Whitman; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

A private burial will be held for Tim Bender at Resthaven Cemetery. Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home have been entrusted with his arrangements.
