

After graduating from high school in Yorktown, Ray served his country in the United States Army from 1961-1963. After serving in the military, Ray worked as an engineer at General Motors until his retirement.
Ray was a talented woodworker and was known to be a socializer. He was known to be the comedian of his daughter Karen's restaurant, entertaining anyone who would talk to him. Ray's famous words were "I love you", and was a devoted member of the Union Chapel Church of Muncie.
He loved exotic animals and even owned camels and reindeer, but he especially loved his dogs and all of his dear friends at the restaurant.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn (Stout) Buck; daughter, Karen Harrold; a bonus daughter, Roxie Hiatt; grandchildren, Britney, Shayna, Carson, McKenzie, and Madison; several great-grandchildren; a brother, George (Suzy) Buck; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to both of his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Scott Buck; a brother, Eldon Buck; a sister, Sibyl Manifold; and a brother-in-law, Harold Manifold.
A graveside time of gathering will be held Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Elm Ridge Memorial Park, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304, located in the Veterans section (Lot #12, space #1) of the cemetery, with graveside services & military honors starting promptly at 11:30 AM.
