Barbara J. Privett

She was born on November 18, 1926, in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of Harry and Reba (Brewington) Williams. Barbara married James Privett on December 13, 1945, and he preceded her in death. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for Ball Memorial Hospital for over fifty years as well as for The Woodlands Nursing Home. Barbara was a member of Sound the Alarm Church and was an avid Bible reader. She enjoyed cooking and loved her family dearly.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Crouch, Muncie, Indiana; one son, Jim (wife, Sandy) Privett, Gaston, Indiana; seven grandchildren; 15, great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Carolyn (husband, Elmer) Johnson; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Bruce Privett; two brothers, David and Fred Williams; and two sisters, Donna Hayworth and Phyllis Williams.

Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana, 47304.

Services to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019, with Pastor Joe Prewitt officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
