Betty J. Oyler

Betty Jean Oyler, age 92, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 11, 2019. She was born on October 5, 1926, in Grant County to Frank and Alta (Renbarger) Brown. She graduated from Sweester High School in 1944, married Myron E. Oyler on December 8, 1946, and retired from Ball State University Library. Betty enjoyed knitting, gardening, and flowers. Betty is survived by children, Sharon Kay Johnson (Gary), of Flint, MI; their children, Jeannette Julien (Daniel), Oxford, MI, Nicholas (Beth), Perrysburg, OH; Benjamin (Dena), Clio, MI; Gloria Krull (Robert), Riverside, CA, their children, Krista Clark (Samuel), Riverside, CA, Alyssa Lance (Daniel), Longmont, CO; Susan Lewis (William), Fort Wayne, IN, children, Heidi Moore, Fort Worth, TX, Adam Moore, Fort Wayne, IN, Heather Chupp (Matthew), Thorntown, IN and Brenton Oyler, Muncie, IN. She is also survived by seven great-grandsons and five great-granddaughters, Joseph, Daniel, Elizabeth, Evelyn, and Emelia Johnson; Kaitlin and Zachery Johnson; Conner and Gavin Clark; Ezekiel, Sofia and Moses Lance; her beloved sister, Martha Oyler, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron; parents, Frank and Alta Brown; brothers, Leicester and Robert Brown; sisters, Mary Wolfe and Wilma Morris; sisters-in-law, Jean and Christine Brown; and brothers-in-law, Maynard Wolfe, Chester Morris, and Maurice Oyler. Memorial Service to honor Betty’s life will be on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana, 47304. Committal will immediately follow the service. Entombment will be in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday, January, 19, 2019, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
