Brenda C. Stanley
December 13, 1950 – February 16, 2021
Brenda C (Hartman) Stanley, 70, of Muncie, passed away at her home.
She was born Wednesday, December 13, 1950 to John C. Hartman and Thelma (Gauseman) Hartman. She enjoyed many years with her longtime companion, Rick VanNatter, and raising a family.
Brenda was a homemaker who loved her family. She attended church, and was a very generous person who gave of herself to those around her. She didn’t know a stranger. Brenda loved to cook and feed people. She was happiest when she could get her children and grandchildren over for a visit.
Brenda is survived by a son, Charles Abbott (wife, Taresa); three daughters, Penny Perry, Charlene Wooten (husband, Rick) and Traci McDaniel; brothers, Bob Hartman (wife, Velmie), Bill Hartman (wife, Roma); sisters, Karen Lawson, and Sandy Gabbard; sixteen grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Rick Van Natter; parents, John and Thelma Hartman; brother, Kenny Hartman (wife, Vickie); sisters, Caroline Wolfe, Alice Smithers, Nancy Parson (husband, Gene), and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Danielle Wooten.
Visitation will be Monday, February 22, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, masks are required as well as social distancing.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Billy Ballenger will officiate the service. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.

Brenda was such a caring person. Her and Rick helped out with the Muncie Firefighters Toys for Tots program. I remember, at the time Rick dressed up as Santa, Brenda and Rick got stuck in the elevator at the Trustee Office. She was so much fun to be around. She will sadly be missed
