Carl Mack Brown, born December 18th, 1938, to Bee and Erma Brown in Clay County Tennessee passed away August 25th at his home. He worked until his last breath and was found in the barn preparing to spend the morning mowing.
Carl came to Indiana to work on the Nickel Plate Railroad. Carl spent 30 years of his working life with Dayton Walther then retired from Philips Mold and Pattern after 20 years of service. He was a self-made man who could do anything. He raised animals, grew beautiful gardens, moved houses, and was always working on and restoring cars. Carl had no special training but was a Master Mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Aladean Brown. They were connected at a young age by having extended family who married. Life took them in different directions and after life circumstances they reconnected. They blended their families and created a life together. Dean passed away in May 2024, and Carl couldn’t live without her. Those who love them know that he died of a broken heart. Carl was the last survivor of eight brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his children; Tamara (David) Rains, Steven (Dava) Brown, Michelle (Larry) Lodge, Anthony (Tracy) Haynes and Mitchell (Stacy) Haynes, and Jeanette (Tony) Dishman, 19 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will have a private gathering to celebrate his life. The family realizes Carl and Dean had many friends and loved ones. They appreciate the thoughts and prayers offered to them during this sad time. In lieu of flowers please contribute to The Wounded Warriors Fund in honor of Carl and Aladean’s family members including father, brother-in-law, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren that have served and continue to serve. https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org/
