Charles Goodwin

Charles D. Goodwin, 70, Daleville, Indiana, went peacefully into the night on Thursday, November 8, 2018. He was born on Saturday, April 10, 1948, in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Chester and Ivah Goodwin. After receiving a Master’s Degree from Ball State, Charles worked for twenty plus years as a Project Engineer for Delphi. Charles received numerous awards and publications and was a founding member for several organizations. He enjoyed working on his classic MG Midget and tinkering and fixing things. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Donna Goodwin; daughter, Tyra (fiancé, Breant Anderson) Goodwin; son, Charles “Chuck” Goodwin; Grandchildren, Gabe, Tyler, and Kaitlyn; brothers-in-law, Chuck Reeves and Harry DeHart; sisters-in-law, Cora (husband, Sonny) Shields and Nyla (husband, Joe) Bivens; best friend, Phil Hofherr; sixteen nieces and nephews; and also fostered children and hosted exchange students. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Puggy; sister, Cindy; and granddaughter, Taylor Danielle. A Celebration of Charles’ Life will be held on Monday, November 12, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304.
