Charles “Ed” Nannie, 76, of Muncie, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on September 3, 2025. Born on June 5, 1949, in Celina Tennessee, Ed was a giving friend, loving father, grandfather, and longtime salesman.
Ed grew up in Indiana, where he developed a lifelong love for fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors taking pride in his yard. He had a natural talent for sales, dedicating more than 50 years to the profession. Over the course of his career, he worked his way up through the ranks at Mid-West Towel, served as a broker with Ruoff Mortgage and Indy Mortgage, and later retired from Navient.
Ed was best known for his outgoing nature and unique sense of humor. Whether in the middle of a grocery store, at a family gathering, or out on the water with a fishing pole in hand, he never missed an opportunity to strike up a conversation. He had a gift for cracking jokes that made him easy to love. To Ed, the world was truly his playground where his only goal was to make someone smile.
He is survived by his three children Chuck, Marc (Michelle), and Devon (Mirranda); four grandchildren; three siblings Diana, Richard, and Donna; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Bethel and Irene; brother Oliver; daughter in-law Lori.
Ed’s legacy of hard work and fun adventures will live on forever in the hearts of his family, friends, and well-loved neighbors.
