Danny R. McCormick

Danny R. McCormick, age 74, gained his heavenly wings on January 7, 2025. Dan was born on October 2, 1950 in McMinnville, Tennessee to the late Chester and Wilma (Jones) McCormick. He was a big brother to Mike McCormick and Robin Phillips.

Dan graduated from Delta High School in 1969. He was drafted into the Army as a door gunner. He was honorably discharged in 1972 after his tours in Vietnam.

Dan married the love of his life, Terrie McCormick (Grubb) in 1976. They have three children together: Mariah (Don) Johnson of Muncie, Kristal (Dave) Drake of Jonesboro, and Daniel McCormick of Muncie.

Dan has four grandsons that were the light of his life: Austin (Kimberly) Drake of Indianapolis, Noah (Madison) Drake of Ft. Bragg North Carolina, Skyler (Emilie) Johnson of Muncie and his little man Dayton McCormick of Muncie.

Dan loved to ride his motorcycle on the open road and tinker with his hot rod, a 1976 Fiat Spider. He enjoyed riding it out at the Muncie Dragway. Dan retired after 20+ years of owning McCormick's Heating and Cooling.

His adventurous spirit and unwavering love for his family and friends will be remembered and cherished by all that knew him.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Wilma McCormick; and brother, Mike McCormick.

A Celebration of Life with graveside services will be held at Marion National Cemetery at a later date.
