Darrel Waters

He was born December 11, 1946, in Hilltop, Kentucky, the son of Ray and Elsie (New) Waters. Darrel loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer and watching Westerns on T.V. Darrel was one who could do or fix most anything, he even built his home in 1975. He worked as an electrician at Phillips Pattern and Casting before retiring.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Waters; son, Tony (wife, Cindy) Waters; daughter, Tena (husband, Larry) Taylor; stepson, Jesse (wife, Bobbie) Tarr; brothers and sisters, Warren Jones, Phyllis (husband, Jim Sarlanis) Cook, Mary, (husband, Larry) Harris, Orlando Watters, Freida (husband, Merle) Sullivan, Tammy (husband, Michael) Day, Michael Watters, and Stephen Watters; and several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Waters; his mother, Elsie Smith; brothers, Wendell Watters, Donald Waters, and Samuel Waters; sisters, Evelyn Stewart, and Sharon Mills.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
