Denver King

He was born in Kentucky on March 31, 1936, the son of Alfred and Marie (Reed) King. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Shelby Shook, on June 14, 1956. With determination and grit, Denver built a prosperous career and took great pride in his accomplishments. Aside from owning his own business, he loved gardening and found great satisfaction in nurturing plants and watching their growth. However, above all else, Denver cherished his family.

Survivors include his children, Hellen Yancey, Denver (Cynna) King Jr., Sally Baker, Timmy King, Sara (Bob) Hirst, Kathy (Bill) Fields, and Julie (Dewayne) Waters; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-six great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shelby (Shook) King; parents, Alfred and Marie (Reed) King; son, Ronnie King; and a grandson, Chad Redwine.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow at Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
